I also think the "Most Popular" feature on websites is very useful. All of the information available on sites can seem a bit intimidating, but utilizing this feature gives the user a very good starting point. Everyone wants to know the news that most people are looking at so they up to date on the most popular news. I think news websites should continue improving this feature, so users can get the most customized search possible and find what they want to read.
